Set deep in the heart of the North Dorset countryside, high up on Bulbarrow Hill, is where you will find one of only a handful of true sawmills in full time operation in the South of England.
Bulbarrow Timber Products prides itself on being a small family run business, established for over 35 years. Owner, Richard Hayward started the business back in the mid 1970´s, with a small piece of land, a few machines and a lot of enthusiasm. In the 1990´s, Richard was joined in the business by his sons, Geoff and Robert. Between the three of them they have a wealth of experience and knowledge off all aspects of forestry and timber.
Nowadays, the business is run on a bigger scale, with products and machinery being regularly updated to meet requirements A brand new computer assisted saw, manufactured in Germany, is one of the newest additions to the business.
With Geoff on the controls, the quality of sawn timber is very high. Although we do not hold a stress grade certification at present, it is hoped that we will do so by 2012.
We can offer our customers a wide variety of services and products, ranging from finest European oak beams, cut to customers own specifications, right down to garden trellis, made, from locally sourced softwoods. So, whether it´s fencing material you´re after or logs for your wood burner, we can provide you with a wide range of quality timber at competitive prices. Methods of Payment
Payments can be made in either cash or by cheque.
Unfortunately, we have no facility to take cards at present.
